How Can You Help the Earth?

Our Earth is in need of our help! Our human population has impacted our planet in several ways. Overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation are some of human's impacts on mother nature. These types of changes have led to climate change, poor air quality, and undrinkable water.

Here are some simple ways to help our Earth recommended by the NOS(National Ocean Service)

• Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: Follow the 3 R's and remember to try to cut down on what you throw away! Bring reusable bags when going shopping. Start composting or buy second-handed items.

• Educate: Teach others about the importance of nature and the resources it provides. Perhaps this might motivate someone to become an environmentalist or even do something simple as recycling and planting a tree.

• Conserve Water: The more you control your water usage and the less water you use, less run off and wastewater ends up in the ocean.

• Plant a Tree: Trees provide us with the oxygen we use for survival. They save energy, provide us with food, clean the air, and help us combat environmental problems.

• Shop Wisely: Using a reusable bag when shopping, using containers for storage, and buying local products are few of the many ways you can shop eco friendly.

• Don't Send Chemicals Into Our Waterways: Choose to use non-toxic chemicals or to dispose of chemicals properly. Metals, different chemicals, and pesticides can cause water pollution and harm aquatic life.
